Children urged to Government, Administration and Civil Society.
With an aim to improve the child rights situation in Barisal Division a Dialogue Session held on 10 August 2015, in Barisal.
National Children’s Task Force Barisal took an initiative to develop the four clusters of child convention (Child protection, survival, development and participation).Next to that they want to ensure the accountability of civil society and Government regarding child rights issues. The session begun with a video documentary named “Alor Moshal Bahi Shisura Ashbe”(Children will come with flame of light) on child rights situation of Barisal, got warm appreciation by the respective audience.
Children said that the coaching center is a major concern for the students (Children) of Barisal as well as the whole country. Students have to go for coaching seven days in a week which appeared as a barrier of their proper mental growth. NCTF members demanded a day off in Friday so that students can get a scope for recreation. On the other hand Jubaer Islam (NCTF Member) demonstrated the challenges of children in Barisal regarding school, library and educational issues. Pinki Akter(child) raise her voice against Child marriage and Eve-teasing. She also added her attempt to stop child marriages. She succeeds to stop ten child marriages including her school friend. Children raise various questions and their demand for improving child rights situation and the honorable guests discussed and share their plan for child welfare considering their (NCTF) proposal.
In the Dialogue session there were Jebunnesa Afroze MP (Member of Parliament) as the chief guest, police commissioner Mr.Soibal Kanti Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner Dr. A.T.M Mizanur Rahman and District Civil Surgeon. The program presided by Rima Akter (NCTF Member) and Jobayer Islam was the moderator. The program organized by NCTF and supported by Shisu Academy, Plan International Bangladesh, world vision and Save the Children.
